American Megatrends appoints Mani as CEO

American Megatrends India (AMI) Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Megatrends Inc, which is in the business of storage and computing solutions worldwide, has appointed Sridharan Mani as its director and chief executive officer for India operations.

Mani would be responsible for growing business in Asian, African and Middle-eastern markets for AMI's products and services. His responsibilities include leading AMI India's operations and increasing market share for vehicle tracking, storage and embedded solutions.

With over 15 years of experience in information technology, Mani has been in the forefront of building businesses, handling aggressive corporate and client leadership roles at Fortune companies in finance, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, telecom and education. He has worked in the US for a decade in various organisations such as GATS Business Oriented Software Solutions Inc and Mahindra British Telecom. He has started his career with NIIT Ltd (NIITLTD.NS : 66.95 -0.15) and has won the leadership award for outstanding leadership and vision in 2005.

AMI India, founded in 1994, started as an offshore software development RandD wing of AMI USA and has also been involved in rendering embedded solutions and software development services to customers worldwide.

Burman awarded the most admired food professional

The vice-chairman of Dabur India Limited (DABUR.NS : 200 +2.5) and the chairman of Lite Bite Foods, Amit Burman has bagged the most admired food professional of the year award in the food and beverage category at the Coca-Cola Golden Spoon Award. Burman was honoured for his contribution towards the expansion of the food retail industry in India through his venture Lite Bite Foods Ltd.

Diljeet Titus gets Order of Star of Italian Solidarity

It's a global award with a difference. Diljeet Titus, founder and managing partner of Titus and Company, a corporate law firm, and chairman of Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce, has been conferred with Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity by the President of Italy, HE Giorgio Napolitano.

The prestigious award is conferred by the President of the Italy on Italian and foreign citizens who have shown great merit and distinguished themselves through lasting contributions to Italian society in the fields of literature, economy, public service, and social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities.

Among the award's prior recipients are diplomats, academicians, senior Italian politicians, high-ranking officials and religious leaders. Some of the previous Commendatore honorees include Carlo Verdone, Giuseppe Tornatore, Giorgio Armani, Luciano Benetton and Michael Schumacher.

The award citation handed over to Titus by the Ambassador of Italy to India, Roberto Toscano in the Capital says that he has established significant working relations with a number of Italian companies and has thus contributed to the development of Italian companies in India.

"He has been working and providing services to Italian companies for many years. He has also supported several Italian cultural initiatives in India. He is involved in the development of bilateral economic relations and in the organization of various promotional initiatives," the citation states.
