American Megatrends India (AMI) is gearing up to add more partners to its bandwagon in the Indian subcontinent. Furthermore, the company intends to upgrade its Tier-2 partners to Tier-1 level.
Sridharan Mani, Director & CEO, AMI said, "Currently, we have a significant channel base who deal in our enterprise class products and going ahead we intend to add more partners to our kitty. As of today, we have about 160 plus partners registered with us" He further added, "We are conducting multi-city events wherein we are addressing solution providers and system integrators."
The company classifies its partners mainly into three categories which includes Tier-1 partners who are complete end-to-end solution providers, Tier-2 partners who offer enterprise products and develop certain solutions and have good understanding of products and solutions while the third category is that of registered partners who are merely box pushers. Maximum number of partners associated with the vendor are Tier-2 partners.
The first roadshow was held on 23rd January in Mumbai wherein the company witnessed almost 100 partners attending the event. Mani said, "Through this event, we aspire to educate partners about our offering in SAN and NAS space. Also, our channel plans and roadmap for India for the coming financial year." Going ahead, the events will be conducted in Chennai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. In addition, the company is working out logistics to conduct road shows in multiple cities across India.
The company's primary business globally comes from its OEM/ODM business. However, in India, OEM contributes about 30% while Enterprise products business contributes about 40-45% and the rest is from services businesses wherein the demand is generated from international markets and fulfillment is done in India.
Mani said, "We address a very niche market and offer only SAN and NAS products and only through our channel partners. We address the requirements of our partners through AMI partner program through which we run a portal for partners which provides tutorials, videos and many more facilitators. Also, we run our incentive programs under this and we also offer customized incentive programs for our partners." He further said, "We address the B2C market as well as healthcare wherein we offer mobility based solutions, asset management solutions and more.
Going ahead, AMI plans to introduce new products under its 3400 series in near future, which will have a complete support for SSD and intelligent life cycle management zoning facility. At business level, the company has a strong presence in South and North. The plan in coming months is to strengthen its presence in the Western market.
