This dual dialect storage appliance can be deployed in existing Ethernet networks and has enough capacity to support the entire data storage needs of corporations and institutions. It merges Ethernet-based Storage Area Networks (IP-SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) on a single storage platform. Ideal for both primary and secondary storage, it provides many enterprise-class features at a price that is attractive to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs).
StorTrends NAS appliances make it simple to centralize file data storage from Windows®, Mac® and Linux clients across the existing Ethernet network, and are perfect for organizations that are experiencing rapid data growth. Administrators can save time and money by deploying StorTrends NAS appliances instead of inflexible Direct Attached Storage (DAS). Adding capacity in a DAS environment means adding a server and requires downtime, while adding capacity with AMI's StorTrends 3200na NAS means no downtime for users and can be implemented both for quick additional storage capacity or long-term use.
The StorTrends 3200na NAS appliance also offers improved disk utilization in comparison to traditional DAS and can also provide many advanced data management capabilities not available with DAS units. The StorTrends 3200na includes features like Advanced Snapshots, Snapshot Assisted Replication, Thin and Auto Provisioning, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) and more – all standard features at a price that is attractive to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The StorTrends 3200na NAS is also capable of massive capacity expansion with ability to add up to three StorTrends 3201j JBOD enclosures. When fully populated with 1 TB SATA drives, a total of up to 48TB of additional raw capacity can be added to augment the native storage volume of a StorTrends 3200na NAS head unit.
Each StorTrends IP-SAN and NAS appliance also includes the ManageTrends™ web-based GUI for StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software, which provides discovery and management of multiple StorTrends appliances deployed across the network. ManageTrends also monitors the storage performance, capacity and storage-related events, and provides a detailed analysis of the storage usage and the availability of the storage servers.
